The New Testament affirms Faith, repentance, and baptism as the ordinary saving responses to the gospel. When we survey all the biblical material, Faith, repentance, and baptism are presented as the normal way that Believers request the gift of God salvation. Therefore we could say that baptism is it isn’t necessary for salvation, but it is normative for salvation; biblically speaking, it is an essential aspect of how salvation is received. From the perspective of the New Testament, it marks the normal occasion when a Believer can have the Assurance of salvation.
