ECC Church Family:
I grew up in the 80’s and had a perfect outfit:
White Nike shoes with a red stripe. Lee jeans with the big patch, or parachute pants. Pink Izod shirt with a green aligator on it. My black “Members Only” jacket. I just felt better about myself anytime I put those clothes on. There is way too much focus on clothing in our culture. God’s Word has some great insight:
Jesus says in Matthew 6: “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his
splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith?’’
Paul gives us insight as well in Colossians 3:
Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.
Our daily focus needs to be on becoming more like Jesus every day rather than worrying about the things of this world. When Jesus is at the center of all we do, we are truly “dressed for success!” In Christ’s love,
Jim Chandler
Events/Announcements:

Operation Christmas Child:
ECC will be participating in the Operation Christmas Child outreach this year. Alice Belanos is heading this up for us and has the boxes needed for us to pack.
Boxes will need to be returned to the church no later than November 9, 2025. There are guidelines for packing a shoebox at: samaritanspurse.org
If you have questions or want to help, you can reach Alice at (919) 423-1015.
November Sermon Series:

Jim will be bringing a series of messages on Sunday mornings in November. At the heart of each message will be a simple truth that we are blessed more than we realize and when we stop and count our blessings it changes the way we look at life!
Prayer Ministry:

Do you have a prayer request? Make sure you send your prayer requests to Margaret Magee who oversees our prayer requests ministry: margmagee@gmail.com
AC Giving Fund:

ECC has seven air conditioning units, all of which are getting closer to needing to be replaced. We have been informed that the cost to replace each unit will be approximately $11,000. We have started an AC Replacement Drive so that we can be prepared to replace each unit prayerfully one at a time as needed. You can give to this fund by noting on your check or electronic gift that it is for “AC Replacement.”
